Oh So Simple

Hello!

I'm still inspired the sketch challenge at Less Is More.  And when I looked at it again it seemed so obvious to me that I should make a masculine card!   I added one tiny bit of bling to be the tie pin - it's a little Swarovski crystal.  I'm really pleased with the simplicity of this one!

I'll Be Your Up

Hello!

First snowfall of the year today but not that bad here. It's been a busy day at work.  Nice to get home and relax a bit. Not much spare time so this is a quick little make using Bella & Friends from Stampin' Up!

Coloured with water colours - nice and easy!  I like the results though!

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Positivity

Hello!

Last one for today I think.  I've had this stamp set "In This World" from Stampin' Up! for ages and never used it so I thought I would give it a go today.  Got the watercolours out again for this one but this time I used Gansi Tambi from Kuratake.

I'm entering this one in the Anything Goes challenge at Lil Patch Of Crafty Friends.

Hey Valentine

Hello!

A second card from me today.  This time inspired by the Anything Goes challenge at 613 Avenue Create.  The optional twist on this challenge is watercolouring so I used my ZIG Clean Color brush markers for this. Quick and easy!

Another Butterfly

Hello!

It's cold here today. I've just been out and it's -4.  A beautiful crisp morning though, and a lovely clear blue sky!

I had a few scraps lying on my desk so I decided on a quick make.  Another one inspired by the sketch challenge at Less is More.

The butterfly is made from random scraps of water colour paper which I'd just been adding random colours to.
The sentiment wasn't supposed to be layered on but I stamped it slightly squint so I had to cover it up! (Doh!)

Have a lovely day!

Friend

Hello!

Something new for me today (well, almost new).  A technique I very rarely use - stencilling.  Not sure why I don't use this technique. I don't really think about it!  Now that I've done a wee bit today though makes me want to do some more.  And to try (try!) and find my gelli plate - I know it's somewhere but finding it may not be so easy!

I'm inspired again by the Less Is More sketch challenge.

Made this card with a Tim Holtz stencil (Scribbles THS036), a Paper Smooches "Friend" die, and WPlus9 "Layered Butterfly".  I lightly inked some vellum for the butterfly. All the inks used were Hero Arts.

Hope you like it!

Just A Little Notecard

Hello!

Monday again! Been a mega busy day today mostly spent at a hospital but all good in the end - suffice to say it's not been the weekend I had planned!

I don't want to lose my crafty mojo though (now that it seems to be on the verge of coming back after a long leave of absence!) So I'm going to stick with simple and easy for now. And, who knows, it might be the new still of preference for me!

I had a thought to use some Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils so I thought of a quick and easy image which might stand out well on craft cardstock.  So here it is.. from the "You're Sublime" set from Stampin' Up! I masked off the greeting (have a snappy day) before inking. I'm leaving a sentiment off just now as I think this image would work well for a number of different occasions.

Here goes!

A Simple Perspective

Hello!

Second post of the day.  There wasn't going to be a second post today but I was browsing around (as you do) and I was inspired by the new challenge at Less Is More.  It's a sketch challenge.  I usually don't do sketch challenges as my preference seems to be Anything Goes.

This sketch challenge and all the DT inspiration made me want to take part!

Whilst I stuck with a Stampin' Up! stamp from Remarkable You, I opted for Hero Arts inks.  I used 4: Green Fields and Moss, and Pale Tomato and Orange Soda.  I like the colour combo.  The little sentiment words are from Tim Holtz idea-ology.

Here it is!

And here's a link to the challenge!

Dotty Bird

Hello!

It's been a busy weekend so far. I thought today would be more relaxing but it looks like that's not going to be the case.

Never mind though! A quick wee card with a Sizzix die cut Bird from Birds#3.

Forever Lovely

Hello!

It's cold here today, I feel like I can't get a heat! (and I'm sitting right next to a radiator!)

I've been having a play with some new Stampin' Up! goodies called Forever Lovely - dies and stamps and used two of the new colours - Lovely Lipstick and Granny Apple Green.   I do like this combo!

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

A pocket full of flowers

Hello!

Welcome to Monday! I felt the need to use some bright colours today. Something cheery to match the beautiful clear crisp weather today!

I used a Paper Smooches die set called Pocket and layered the die cuts up on a black and  white background to give the colours an extra pop.

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Froggie

Hello!

It's the weekend! It's been a busy one so far so I'm glad of the chance to relax a bit today.  I had to write a to-do list to make sure I achieved things!  Now I feel I can reward myself with some crafty time.

I've chosen an image from the Stampin' Up! set called You're Sublime.  I love this little frog. He's got such a lovely cheery smile and he's so easy to colour!

Vibrant Vases

Hello!

This week does seem to be flying in! And it's been a busy one so crafty time is limited.  Never mind though, any time is better than no time.  And it does focus the mind on nice clean and simple makes!

No watercolour or water theme for this one, just some simple stamping!
I used just the "filler" stamps from the new Stampin' Up! set called Vibrant Vases.  I like the effect of not having solid images!

Have a good day!

Sail Away

Hello!

Well here we are at the mid point of the week.  It's chilly today - time to scrape ice off the car (at lunchtime!)

Busy busy day at work today but I feel very positive and productive!

I'm sticking with a nautical theme for today's card using one of my all time favourite stamps - Sail Away from Stampin' Up!  This is the first time I've coloured it using watercolours - usually I do some paper piecing with the sails.  It's such a useful stamp to have as you can use it for so many cards, and for male or female!

Hope you like it!

I'm going to enter this one in the Less Is More challenge as it still fits with the Water theme!

A New Adventure

Hello!

A second post today!   Again, I'm inspired by the Water challenge at Less Is More!

A watercoloured image and water in the theme!

Simple, but I'm really starting to like making cards that are less "busy"!

Here it is.. I used Kuretake ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers for this card (these pens are amazing!!)

Ape!

Hello!

I'm sticking with the Hey Love stamp set from Stampin' Up! today.  This time using the ape stamp.  Another one that is so easy to colour and so cute!

Papers are also SU! from the "All My Love" Designer Series Paper set.  The main colour is Lovely Lipstick.
I added a little heart clear accent next to the greeting - it's hard to see it in the picture though.

Hope you like it!

Here For You

Hello!

Second card for today as I was inspired by the challenge at  Less Is More #386 Water.

All the elements on this card were water coloured then die cut using Sizzix Thinlits Rainy Days and Sunshine #2.

Hello Monday!

Hello!

It's Monday.  It's cold and wet here in central Scotland, but not as cold as it should be so no complaints!

A perfect day to spend some time in the craft room - although I really should be trying to tidy it up (it would be nice to see the floor again!)

I've been having a play with a new set from Stampin' Up! called Hey Love.  It's full of cute little critters - all of them adorable!  I really do like this little birdie though!  Again, just a simple card but sometimes less is more!

Hoppy For You!

Hello!

Another quick little card today as too many things to do today!  Still, making the most of every minute and trying to get through a big "to do" list!

I've been playing with one of the new Sale-A-Bration sets from Stampin' Up! called So Hoppy Together.  I just love this little frog and he's so easy to colour!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Flutterby!

Hello!

The weekend is here and there's been a wee bit crafty time (just a wee bit!) so I'm sticking with "simple" for the moment.  This time I've used a Sizzix Thinlits by David Tutera called Delicate Butterflies.  I love the dimension you get with this die set.

I used 100lb watercolour paper this time as this die set works on paper folded over so cutting through 2 layers.  I used my Gemini to cut and it came out clean.  I'd painted some random watercolours on the paper yesterday and let it dry ready for today.  I thought that the pastels of the butterfly would be nicely accented by some black/white so I used some designer series paper from Stampin' Up! called Botanical Butterfly.

The greeting is from Itty Bitty Birthdays by Stampin' Up!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2019!

I was a bit remiss in posting in the second half of 2018.  Too many distractions unfortunately.  I'm not going to make New Year resolutions to craft and post more because I'm probably setting myself up to fail!  So I'll just say that I hope I can spend more time creating and sharing in 2019!
It's also going to be a year of trying not to spend too much on new crafty things so I'll be making a point of sorting through the craft room and going a bit nostalgic!

I've started this year with some simple cards.  Some Tim Holtz dies (Funky Floral #2) and some Gansi Tambi watercolours from Kuretake.  I've used 140lb acid free cold press watercolour paper from Arteza (It's such a good price, so perfect for card making!).

Here's a couple of the cards made so far!

I'm going to enter the card below in the following challenges:

Really quick and simple, and fun to make!
