Gorjuss again!

Here is another of the Gorjuss girls! I like the blue and beige with the Basic Gray Granola papers.

daisy

I love this little stamp - she is so cute! Coloured using pro markers again. Not sure what kind of card to make with her!

Gorjuss!

This is one of the new stamps from Suzanne Woolcott - Gorjuss! Love them and so easy to colour! Used Promarkers on this one. The papers are Basic Grey Urban Prairie.
As always, the flowers are Prima. I used sequins for the centres - stuck with a little Glossy Accents.

Washing the car - harmless??

..not to a 4 year old. A simple Sunday afternoon task of washing the car - great fun? well it should be for a 4 year old... but have you any idea what is in car shampoo?? It's scary.. a word of warning. Don't let your child help Daddy by washing the car - unless it's with ordinary soap and water. Sarah has just come in with a really angry red rash all over her face. Red bumps and white blotches. Almost definately an allergic reaction.. thank goodness we have Piriton in the house. I've also washed her face with only water - very gently. Lets hope it will start to fade soon! I think I will start paying more attention to labels... it's a scary world!

All baked!

Here it is...you could be forgiven for saying.. "weren't the little circles blue in the last picture??"... yes they were! I might just have confused my centigrade and my farenheit!! The temp it gets baked at is 110/230.. I did it at 230.. I think MAYBE I should have set the oven to 110. Still.. these are the things we learn by! If you didn't know it was blue before you wouldn't know I had made such a mistake! Better luck next time I say!

Friendship!

I'm really pleased to accept this award from the lovely Manda !

polymer clay (fimo) millefiori

Trying something new (again!) - this time it's polymer clay - I thought I could try to make some beads! I had Fimo when I was younger so I thought I would give it a try again! This is my first attempt at millefiori. I guess its just like making rock where the letters run right the way through. I'm quite pleased with this for a first try - although I wish I hadn't put black round the outside. Nevermind.
I'm going to make it into a wee coaster type thing. All I need to do now is bake it in the oven at 230 for 30 mins then varnish it. If it works out I will take another pic!
Watch this space!!
These are about 8mm across.

Purple organza brooch

Made from dupion silk, loads of layers of organza, some felt, some banana fibre, pearls and seed beads. I think it would look nice on black. These banana silk fibres are so gorgeous! They are made from the bark of banana trees - amazing!

Sarah and Bobble in the new bed!

absolutely delighted!

Sarah's reaction to her new bed was priceless! Absolutely loves it!

Fit for a Princess!

This has been the activity for today! Our little princess is staying with her grandma today and overnight so she wont see this until tomorrow. She has no idea we've done this today. I can't wait to see her face! If I had had a bed like this when I was wee I would have been over the moon! We've left the desk part out a bit to make an entrance to underneath the bed - there's a wee nightlight under there so it will be a wee place to play! It's quite sad to see the cot bed go though - just proves she is growing up! Where did the last 4 years go?

Going Bananas!

Didn't know if this would work or not - this is needle felted banana silk - yes, really from bananas! It's gorgeousssssssssssssssssssssss - so soft, silky and shiny! Here's the big bag that I got (400gms) enough to last a life time! I just added a few seed beads to finish it. Its a small brooch - about 1.5" in diameter. The pic doesn't do justice to the shine.

Dupion Silk Corsage

Playing around with some scraps again - layered up some circles of dupion silk with a layer of silk organza - then stitched them together with a button - then just frayed the edges.

Needle felted & beaded brooch

Just using some odd bits and bobs to see what a collage effect would look like!
Used felt, jute ribbon, Trilobal nylon, different colours of merino wool tops and some felting wool. Then added some bugle and large seed beads.

Sew Tweet!

This is my first attempt at making these cute little baby bootees - this one should fit a 0-3 month baby. I still have it's partner to make! I used needle felting to add the dots (managed not to stab myself!!). This is also the first time I've tried blanket stitch so learning lots of new things! More practice needed!
I also managed to get my new sewing machine working - several attempts needed! I have to say I am well impressed! Now all I need is something to sew!
