A simple card

 Hi!  Happy Monday!

It's cold and grey here today but it's been a good day! Just back from a lovely lunch with my daughter and now spending some time in the craft room.  I don't think my mojo is quite back yet so I just had a look through random dies to see what I could do.  I found this set from Sizzix (664360).  It's actually for a 3d flower pot but the flower works well on it's own too. I've used a card size that I very rarely ever use - just for a change.

No scrap too small!

 Hi and happy Sunday!

I'm sat here in my happy space surrounded by an overwhelming stash of supplies.  What do I do? Something that barely makes a dent - but brings so much joy - I use up some scraps!   I've crafted three little "memory" books with chipboard covers, matted and layered pages, little inside pockets, and z-fold spines.  These are so easy and rewarding to make!  The larger one is 4"x 4", and the smaller two are 2" x 2".  Even working with these smaller dimensions is a breeze!  It's hard to believe these scraps could have ended up in the bin!

But here's the best part; these mini memory books make perfect gifts. Imagine handing someone a beautifully crafted, personalised book filled with shared memories, quotes, or even small photos.  It's a heartfelt gesture that shows you care. Plus, the creative process itself is incredibly relaxing and fulfilling.  Each book can tell it's own story, capturing moments and turning what could have been waste into something truly special.  Happy crafting!

Reindeer Fun

 Hi!

In an effort to try and get a bit organised ahead of time I've started making some Christmas themed items - cards, tags and money/gift wallets.

I've been playing with the gorgeous Reindeer Fun set from Stampin' Up!  I just love this little reindeer die cut!  I've used a mix of DSP (including some retired sets) as I had so many scraps to use!

I started with this little pop up card and then just continued until all the scraps on my desk were used!

Little Message

Hi!

On this chilly Sunday I've found some time for creativity. I've used stamps and papers from Tracey Hey, her cute and charming designs make card-making so easy and fun! What a delightful way to spend the afternoon!

I think Sundays have to be my favourite day of the week!  Time to relax, the smell of the Sunday roast and then a chance to chill out reading a book.  Just perfect!

I'm entering my card from today in the Creative Fingers challenge.  It's "Anything Goes".

I hope you're having a lovely day!

And here's a quote to finish!

OMG, don't I feel silly!

 Hello!

It has been absolutely ages since I lasted posted!  I honestly don't know where the time has gone!  I have't been doing very much crafting but as the weather gets colder I am hoping my mojo might try to snuggle up again!

So why do I feel silly?  For the last week I have been trying to do this post but couldn't see any option to create new.  And I just couldn't work out why (other than I had been away for so long that Blogger had gotten fed up and gone into a huff!).  Then today... a stroke of "genius", I worked it out that I wasn't logged on with the right account.  So don't I feel silly!   All sorted now though.  And a quick make to hopefully get started again!

I was looking for some inspiration so I checked out some challenge blogs.  The first one I looked at was CAS On Sunday - their Friday challenge.  It's theme is "leaves".  So here is my quick and simple make using Tim Holtz Dies and some randomly coloured watercolour paper!

I hope you like it! Have a lovely day!

Happy Friday!

 Hello!

It's a wild day here as we seem to be catching a bit of storm Kathleen. Heavy rain, cold and windy.  A perfect day for lunch with my daughter and a bit of crafting!

Today's craft started with one sheet of 200 gsm copier paper, some inks, water colour pencils and a stamp.  with help from a gelli plate, brayer and some washi tape the end result is a birthday card using Party Giraffe by Kate Crane for Carabelle Studio.

I'm really pleased with this one as both of the backing papers are handmade and I love the different effects with the gelli plates.  The inks used were Soft Succulent and Rococo Rose from Stampin' Up! and they've blended together so well. This giraffe is so much fun to colour too!

I hope you like it!

A little bit of mixed media

 Hi and Happy Monday!

Something different from me for this week. Two makes from yesterday, yes, a whole day devoted to craft yesterday (and a nice little drive down to a wee village in the Scottish Borders).   Attended a workshop run by the most lovely people at Stampers Grove, and the most amazingly talented Kate Crane!   A totally amazing experience, with expert tuition, taking me out of my comfort zone of "colouring between" the lines!  It was a lovely day with lovely crafty ladies.

We played with Gelli Plates, brayers, alcohol inks, acrylics, watercolours, stencils and dura-lar!

Here are the results!

Little Bird

 Hi,

Here we are with another Monday! The weather's improving and I've been enjoying a quiet day so far!  I really should be spending some time tidying but just not in the mood!  I did clear some scraps from my desk though so here's a little make with some leftovers!

Have a lovely Monday!

Happy Monday!

Hi! Start of another week and I'm carrying on from my craftiness yesterday.  Sticking with these gorgeous stamps by Tracey Hey.

Love this little guy and he was so easy to colour!

It's colder today, the winds from yesterday seem to have passed but its just kind of grey and miserable.  So I might have to turn up the volume on the happy tunes and do some more colouring!

Happy days everyone!

Play time

 Hi!

It's Sunday play time.. and for the first time in ages I've not found myself procrastinating!  So with my playlist on, and the desk still pretty messy, I found my folder full of Tracey Hey stamps and got the alcohol markers out!  Coloured this little guy, cut him out and just went for a pretty simple layout.  I'm really loving the colour combo!

I hope, wherever you are, you're enjoying your Sunday and living your best life.  There are reminders all around us that we should take nothing for granted.

Here he is....

Have a lovely day!

Early Valentines

Hi!   What a wild day it is today - storm Isha rocks huge parts of the UK.  There's no trains running today.. and I'm very glad I don't have to go anywhere!  I thought I would have a little play in the craft room today.  I really still need to try and tidy it up.  The main problem at the moment is finding things.  The ideas are there but the mojo disappears with the thought of having to hunt for whatever it is I need!

I did make a little card to use up some scraps on my desk though.  I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.  Just a little bit of colouring which was really relaxing!

I'm going to enter this little guy in the following challenges:

Have a lovely day!

Happy Sunday!

 Hi! and happy Sunday!

I hope everyone is having a lovely day!  it's been a lazy one here.. some crafting and a trip to the beach.  It was kind of cold and not that bright, and the sun started to set around 3:45pm. Got a pic with my phone, and you can see Edinburgh in the background.

Crafting today was a couple of projects to use up some of my double sided 6x6 papers.   These little booklets are a Z fold and have four or five little flaps or pockets to hide pictures, messages, tags or even to be used to give a gift card or money. I found a tutorial on YouTube a while back (and now can't find it again! but if you are stuck for ideas it's a great place to go!) Great fun to make and no scrap is too small when it comes to making embellishments for them too!  You need 1 full sheet of 6x6 and then a 3 3/4x5 and a 3x5.  These create the Z fold then you just add any extras for little pockets and embellishments.  There's really no right or wrong to this and you can just do your own thing.  Handy to have in your stash for a gift or mini book!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
