Christmas Wishes

Hi!

I love these papers from Stampin' Up! Wrapped In Plaid.  It's the best set of tartan papers I think I've seen!  And perfect for Scottish Christmas wishes!

Congratulations

Hi!

I'm using the Stampin' Up! Everything Is Rosy papers for this card.  I love the designs and the colour combos.

I've not made a card with lots of patterned paper for a while so it was good to have a change!

Have a lovely day!

A Holiday Hello

Hi!

I've taken my inspiration for this card from challenge #152 at AAA Cards.  This challenge is a card with "Maxi White Space".  So here we go!

Time to Celebrate

Hello, and happy Monday!

It's cold today!  I was out first thing and it was -2.  Nice and fresh and a beautiful clear blue sky!

And also a perfect day for some crafty time! It's lovely and warm in the craft room, music on and time to have a look through some things I've not used for ages (actually, I was hoping to find a particular stamp set but I realise that might be harder than it should be so I'm setting my expectations low and keeping an open mind!!)

Here's my starter for today though..

Have a lovely day!

Froggie love

Hi,

An extra hour in bed this morning was very welcome after being out at a party last night.  Finding it hard to get my mojo into gear today so just a quick make from me today!

Festive Friends

Hi!

I thought I better start thinking about Christmas cards! So I treated myself to some new stamps and dies from My Favorite Things.

Great fun colouring this little reindeer!   Kept this card quite simple but when I get some more free crafty time I plan to play some more!

Have a lovely day!

Kitty

Hello!

It's kitty cat time here! Although one of our cats is in the bad books after playing with a poor wee sparrow which I had to rescue, take out of the house and give it it's freedom.  Hoping that the cat doesn't find it again!  Poor thing was terrified!

Anyway, I hope you like the colours! Bright and cheerful!

Sticking with the paint brush!

Hi!

I love to use watercolours to colour stamped images.  The more you can influence the end result the better the individuality I think!  I do have some ready made toppers in my craft stash but for some reason I always find them harder to craft with.  Perhaps in my mind I don't see "assembly" of ready made items in the same way as I see "messing about from scratch"!  LOL!  Everyone finds their own way in crafting and that's what's so great about it!
I do wish I was truly "artistic" but I think that would only be achieved with lots of time and patience (if ever!) and certainly not with a full time job, busy family life and lots of socialising!
So for the moment, I just "tinker".. and today's "tinkering" involves some freehand water colouring.  Some little floral notelets.  These are actually great fun to make!  I've got so many different types of water colours I just used them randomly.

I'm looking forward to more time to practice!

Hope you like these beginner attempts!

Have a lovely day!

Where does the time go?

Hi!

I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted anything.  The time just seems to have disappeared - all work and family!   I'm not complaining though.  And now that we are heading into Autumn/Winter its easier to justify the time spent in the craft room rather than doing other things!  Also, I think sometimes a wee break does you good!

I'm easing myself back in gently and have started experimenting with the water colours again.  I've made these three cards by first making random watercolour backgrounds.  Just playing with the palette!

Hope you like them!

Have a lovely weekend!

Acrylic Paint

… and a palette knife.

No crafty time this week!  But tonight, in a spare hour, I had a play with acrylics and a palette knife for the first time. Here goes!

A Beautiful Day

Hello!

Well, the start to the bank holiday weekend is great! The weather is gorgeous!

There's not been a great deal of crafty time due to school holidays, work and family stuff but I have made a simple wee card today using Tim Holtz dies and Stampin' Up! stamps.  The flowers are cut from water coloured card.

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Friend

Hello!

I know, it's been a week since I last posted but we've been on holiday, just back today.  I didn't take any crafty stuff with me this time.  I've just spend relaxing time reading, which has been great!  A gorgeous little cottage in Perthshire. A quiet piece of luxury and quality family time!

Back now and I think I may have to find my mojo again.  I'm dipping my toe back in the challenge world by taking inspiration from Sketch #312 at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  And I've used some really old Stampin' Up! Stamps from Reason To Smile and Mixed Medley.

I've turned the challenge sketch on it's side..

More to Pour #7

Hello!

A bit more time to get in a mess today. Still very much practicing with acrylic pouring. I mixed too much white so I had to make two (or waste paint).  I have no idea how these will dry but I quite like the colours.  This is the first time I've used a metallic paint (gold).

Cats and Dogs!

Hello!

It's Sunday!  I think Sunday is my favourite day of the week!  Been busy with housework this morning but now it's time to relax! The house smells of home baking - daughters been busy making donuts!  And I can hear bagpipes as it's now practice time - two sets of pipes going and sounding fantastic!

My inspiration for today's cards comes from a family birthday later this week for my two cousins - twins.  So I've made these cards..

I'm going to enter the first card in the following challenges:

Love You Lots

Hi!

Cold and snowy today. Been a busy day though!

I've made a card with a stamp I found in the depths of the craft room.  I don't know who it's by!  I've teamed it up with sentiments from Stampin' Up! Love You Lots.  The fish are coloured with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and then I've used glossy accents.

I hope you like it!

Just For You

Hi!

Wow! What a day... the weather has been crazy! Huge hailstones that lasted for ages!  And so cold!  It's been a busy day at work but now it's time to relax.  And a bit of crafting with a favourite set of mine called "Botanicals For You" by Stampin' Up!

I guess it's all about the sentiment!  I did some random water colouring then punched out the small flowers.  Keeping this card very simple but I like the little random coloured flowers.  Water colour really is an amazing medium!

Ombre Love

Hi,

I've made this card for challenge #156 Ombre at Addicted to CAS.

Happy New Home

Hi!

Inspiration for this card came from #536 at Color Throwdown.  The colour combo is cream, mauve and moss green.  I've die cut using Townscape by Tim Holtz.  Matted on cream cardstock.

I'm also going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Toucan!

Hi!

I'm inspired by the challenge #315 at CAS(E) This Sketch.

Thinking Of You

Hi!

I'm inspired for this card by challenge #317 at CAS Colours & Sketches.  I really like this sketch as it's not one I would have thought of!  This is my second entry into this challenge - shame it closes today, I could keep going!

Flora

Hi!

My inspiration for this card came from colours that I wouldn't typically use for flowers.  It's that time of year when you start getting the garden ready for summer coming but it's still too cold to plant the bedding plants. That made me think of all the gorgeous bright colours of summer.  Looking on my craft desk I found Tim Holtz Distress ink pads in Weathered Wood, Bundled Sage, Broken China, Aged Mahogany, Dusty Concord and Wild Honey so I thought I would try a floral card using these more muted colours.

Here it is.  I hope you like it!

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Flowers and Swirl

Hi!

There's a new colour challenge over at Crazy For CAS.
So I thought  I would give it a go. Grey, Aqua and Peach.
