New Year Bubbles!

Hello!  This is my first post of 2017 and it comes to you wishing you a very Happy New Year!  Now that things are "getting back to normal" after the festive period I'm hoping that I get a little more time to craft!

Looking back over 2016 I did manage 174 posts although I admit that performance tailed off in the latter months!  2016 was a busy old year. Family things and work seemed to take up all the free time.  I need to take control of my time and ensure none of it gets wasted away on tasks that have no benefit!

It's a chilly day here in Central Scotland, although considering the weather we sometimes have in January it's really not bad at all! Frosty nights and mornings and a lunch time high of 4 degrees.  Warm and cosy here in the craft room though!

I think I started last year saying I was going to use craft stash rather than buy new things.  That started off fairly well.. but didn't last! I'm not in the habit of making New Year resolutions but I will be trying (trying!) to watch the crafty spending, make good use of my time, and blog regularly (not much point of having a blog if I don't update it!)

So here is my first card of 2017 made with a Sizzix die that Santa brought me..  I paper pieced all the bubbles - it took a wee bit of time but was strangely therapeutic!

I'm going to enter this card in the following "Anything Goes" Challenges:

Girl with a Bob

Hello Monday! It's a cold and wet day here.  And I'm trying to multi-task between some work, chores to do around the house, and craft.  Never a good combination.  Where does time go?

I've been playing with some new digis from Polkadoodles.  This cute little girl is from Winnie Sugar Sprinkles - Springtime.  I've coloured her with Copics and teamed up with some Basic Grey papers (Urban Prairie) which I've had for ages!  The sentiment is Stampin' Up! from the Sale-A-Bration "Hello" set.

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Petal Lu (#12)

Now I'm off to watch for the postman.. a new order which includes new Copics! Hope they come today!

A Little Birdie Told Me

Hello! Here we are, half way through another week! It's miserable weather here.. rain, rain and more rain.
But I'm not about to lose sight of spring having nearly sprung!  (or the new technique of inlaid die cuts!)  Here's a second attempt using this Sizzix Thinlits "Sweetie Bird" (for Craft Asylum) and some very old QK dies for the flowers and grass.  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz (if you don't have "Crazy Talk" it really is a must have!!)

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Feeling Foxy?

Hello! Hope you're having a lovely weekend!
It's a lazy day here... the cats are sleeping, the house smells of baking (carrot cake so far!), and a Sunday roast is planned for later.  I just love Sunday's like this!

So, some time for me to play with a new die set which arrived during the week. It's a Sizzix Thinlits Fold-a-long by Jen Long.  A combination of 6 dies to make a lovely little Fox card.  My first attempt was a bit fiddly but the second was much easier (and quicker!) as I did things in a logical order!

Here's a link to the Sizzix video tutorial for the card.

And here's the (professional) finished result...

Here are my two attempts!

Good fun! I just need to work out what to do to embellish these further!

Catching up!

Hello! Well, I'm multi tasking! Card making and catching up on Doctor Thorne on STV Player.
I'm trying not to be easily distracted!

I've been colouring this Tiddlyinks digi with Copics and Polychromos.  The papers used are Lawn Fawn and the greeting is Stampin' Up! Something to Say.
I was searching for something to finish off the card and found a Sizzlit that I haven't used for ages.. simply called "Cupcake".

I'm going to enter this card in:

Dandelion 'Love'

Hello! It's Thursday already! Where is this week going?

I've had this stamp for ages and never used it.  It's called Dandelion 'Love' by Emma Thomson.  I think the rabbits on this are so cute!   I've used Lyra Aquacolor crayons to colour this one.   When I put the card together I had a blank space to fill.  What better than a (Sizzix) Daisy (#2)?  Ok, it's not a dandelion, but it's close!

Here's a close up of the bunnies!

I'm going to enter this one in Crafty Gals Corner "Anything Goes" Challenge.
