Hello!
Wow! It's Friday again!  And it's a beautiful day here - blue skies and everything to smile about!
Even more so because, despite being really busy, I have found time to do some crafty shopping! Lots of parcels to open and goodies to ogle! Lots of lovely new fabric too!

One extra special parcel arrived today though.. first time I have shopped with Simon Says Stamp and I have to say I'm really impressed with how quickly the parcel arrived from the States.  And even more happy to see the contents!  I have been trying to get one of these stamp sets from MFT for AGES!!!! It's Magical Dragons!  It seems to be sold out everywhere (no wonder!)

Can't wait to have a play!   I think I will try my new Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils!

Also in the package some gorgeous stamps from Concorde & 9th, and the SSS Monthly Kit!  Suffice to say I was nearly dancing round the room when the postman arrived!

Illustrator by Spectrum Noir

Oh I am sooooo excited!  Courier delivery today was all 96 of the brand new launch from Spectrum Noir - their new artist quality alcohol markers - "Illustrator".  A wee bit expensive to get the full range in one go but I deserved a treat!


Not had a chance to play yet but have had a little scribble and have sorted them into their colour families and initial impressions are very good!  They blend very well and they are easy to hold.

A brilliant range of colours - probably edging slightly more towards the lighter shades.. but that's not a problem as these will compliment my Copics and ProMarkers.  I think I might be tipping 500 now (ooops!), and that's not counting water based pens etc. 

Time to play this weekend - and a whole extra hour on Sunday!!

So excited! New Toy!!

Hi! Wow, things have been busy and crafty time is at a minimum.  So I thought I would treat myself... and the postie came today!  With a Heidi Swapp MInc.. just the mini one as I really don't think I would use 12x12..  I've had one try so far and impressed is an understatement!

 

The quality of the foiling is AMAZING!!!

 

Just need some time to play now!

Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolours

Hi!  I have a few different sets of watercolours but when I saw these I just had to give them a try.  No time to play so far today but hopefully later!

Another parcel!

Oh I just love it when parcels arrive!  Although I am supposed to be having a bit of a de-stash and using what I already have!! Supposed to be...   Clearly that's not going to plan.  Although maybe things could be worse!

 

Now it would just be nice to get some time to play!   Busy weekend though!

More Copics!

Whoop! The postman's been.  I'm building up my collection of copics and these arrived today!

 

This takes my collection up to around 70 I think.. I need to update my colour chart.  Time to play!!

Hi!  Just a very quick post from me.. no time to have any crafty play today but the postman did deliver a new die set for me! Can't wait to play!

Dusted off the sewing machines

Hello! Hope you are enjoying Easter Monday!

 

We've been out and about today so not much crafty time.  Sarah was keen to do some sewing when we got back so we dusted off the sewing machines (as it's been ages) and we found a pattern for a 6x6 block called Friends Around the Square by Julie Karasek at the Splendid Sampler.

 

So we both decided to try it.. we are very much beginners and need to follow patterns very carefully. 

 

 

Here's my first attempt, it's far from perfect but it was fun!

 

 

Not sure what to do with it now.  Maybe a mug rug.. although it was really only for practice (of which, more is needed!)

 

Might do some crafting later as I had a couple of new batches of goodies arrive..  some Clearly Besotted Stamps and the other Kim Dellow set.. (which I just HAD to have!!) 

 

And, I do have some birthday cards to make.. April is a busy month!

 

 

 



Just loving this!

Hello!  Welcome to Spring!  I know it was officially yesterday but I didn't get a minute to blog yesterday!

We did however manage to create the Atomium (it took ages, 9 polystyrene balls, 12 lolly pop sticks, 8 toothpicks and some silver spray paint... and a LOT of hot glue!).  It was ceremoniously wrapped in a bin bag this morning and taken into school.  So I guess I earn a parent brownie point!   And I was rewarded when the postman arrived this morning with this.........

This set was on my "absolutely must have" list.  Now that I have it I realise I need the other set by Kim Dellow too!

Maybe time for some shopping later this morning.  But first I need to make a baby card!

Hello! What a lovely surprise to see that the postman had been again!  This time a little package containing Ellie from Avery Elle and a gorgeous Saturated Canary stamp. 

I haven't had much time so it's Ellie that got the outing!

It was one of those "just got to have them" but "can't really justify it" moments.  Then I found an offer of 20% off so how could I say no?   Topping up the collection of lovely Tim Holtz products with these new Distress Crayons.  I hoping I can use them to compliment my Lyra Aquacolor crayons as I think they will activate and blend in the same way.   Maybe time for a play later!

A super fast delivery from My Mum's Craft Shop made me a very happy crafter today! A beautifully wrapped bundle of goodies...

 

• Lawn Fawn papers - Perfectly Plaid.. they are lovely and cheery!
• MFT Die-namics - Wonky Stitched Circles
• MFT papers - Thick and Thin

and..

• The most aptly named WSD stamp "Conway Tweetie"... brilliant!

 

So now, some time to play!

 

 

Postman's been!

You know when you just can't resist something.. and you just have to have it? 


Well, I haven't treated myself to anything Gorjuss for ages.. and then 20 stamps all come along at once.  And in a carry case!  Resistance was futile!!   The stamps are mini - about 7.5cm high and so cute!

I'll start to use the stamps over the next few weeks.   I'll also need to find all my other Gorjuss stamps and papers as there's loads of room in the caddy!

Yay!

So.... the post title.. "Yay!"   Two reasons.. no three reasons!  (none of them major so no need for a drum roll or anything fancy!)


1. It's Thursday! which means it's nearly Friday.. which is good in itself but we also have plans to visit friends this weekend which makes it even better!
2. The postie brought me a new stamp set I have wanted for ages! (see below)
3. I had a busy but gooooooood day at work!  and it's Thursday! (did I mention that?)

Not had a chance to play yet.. there is a lot of competition in this house for anything crafty.. but to be honest, I didn't expect a cat to be quite such a fan...

She persisted trying to nudge and walk all over the craftiness for about 30 minutes!!

But not long enough to stop me making a special card for a friend who is into... sharks! 

Thank goodness for google!   I found the digi used on this card over at the amazing Tiddly Inks.. I usually stick with Wryn and the girls, didn't realise there was such an amazing range of digis there!

Anyway, I'm not claiming originality for this one. I found a card made using this set and decided to go with something very similar.  Here it is... coloured with copics...

Some new goodies!

Don't you just love it when the postie arrives and you hear the parcel drop through the letterbox to the floor!  Not a big parcel (obviously), as I'm trying to be good!   So I resisted the temptation of a big new year treat and ordered only three new things!
