Little bits and pieces

 Hi!

Well, it's Friday already!  Another quick week.   I was doing a bit of tidying out today - so a black bag full of craft stuff is heading the way of the recycling!   I did find some die cuts I had done last year (or maybe even the year before!) so I thought I would throw together a Christmas card.  And here it is. It really couldn't be simpler.   I used the dotty embossing folder to make the background look like snow but unfortunately didn't have the embossing start right at the top of the card.  So I had to improvise - the result is it's now a book fold card and the lack of embossing is covered by the gold ribbon. I also used some washi tape and a scrap of tartan paper as the background.

Playing with scraps

 Hi!

Well, it's a miserable day here today. I don't think the rain has stopped even for a moment!  But who cares? Certainly not me! After a lovely family day with the doggo at the beach yesterday the weather can do whatever it likes!   My attention did turn to the pile of scrap paper that's just been getting bigger and bigger these last view weeks so I decided to have a play and see what I could use. Two cards for today!

Birthday Martian

Hi! Here's my card for today.  Lots of fun watercolouring this little guy. Then simply cut him out.  Stamped him again on the base card and the glued the coloured image. Simple, but I like it!

I'm going to enter him in the Layered challenge at Addicted to CAS

Have a lovely day!

Mid Oct

Hi!

Wow! We're half way through October already! And it's starting to get colder.  Personally, I love this time of the year. The darker nights coming in! Also perfect time to get crafting!

I've not had a chance to do much in the last couple of weeks with the exception of yesterday and today.  Time spent yesterday afternoon with good friends crafting was just a lovely way to spend the afternoon and we were doing something a bit different - we were needle felting little pictures.  A very therapeutic way to spend the time stabbing away with a felting needle - very de-stressing!

I think I like the first one with the sheep on a hillside better than the second one - but you have to start somewhere!

When I came back from the crafty afternoon I spent some time playing with Jesmonite.  Great fun! I only bought a small amount to try it and I've finished it so I'll need to try and get some more.  Made 2 leaf coasters (broken the stem on one taking it out of the mold - my fault), then made a double tea light holder.  I'm really impressed with this product - so very easy to use!

It's time for tea!

Hello!  and yes, it is time for tea! I've just noticed it's just after noon so a perfect time in the day for a break and a cup of tea before getting ready for a crafty afternoon with friends!

I took my inspiration for my card today from another sketch challenge.  This one is at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  Lot's of layers on this card.  A change for me as I've been tending towards CAS for my more recent cards.  Which means my paper stash is just constantly growing because not using it does not mean I don't buy it!!

I hope you like it. It's Stampin' Up! "Cup of Tea", matching papers, dies and the new In Colors.

Have a lovely day!

Be Original!

Second one for today!  This one is 100% inspired by the sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps!   I love a sketch challenge, especially if I'm feeling stuck for ideas.

I had some new stamps to play with so decided to try this Martian from Kate Crane at Carabelle Studio.  These really are lovely stamps to colour.   And the overall effect of imperfect watercolouring is so effective.

I used a mix of Stampin' Up! write markers and reinkers for my inks (so many colours to choose from and you need so little to get a good effect!)

Here is my little guy - hope you like it!

Woo Hoo!

 Hi! Happy Sunday!

If you're reading this I hope you are having a lovely weekend!  It's a grey sky day here today but why should that be a bad thing?  I'm a real believer that you choose your mood and that helps you deal with what the day will bring!

It's been a busy week here with my daughter now started at uni. She had her pick of 5 offers and chose the one she wanted right from the start!  "Preparation for tomorrow is hard work today" - Bruce Lee.  She worked so very hard for this and I am delighted and so very proud of her!

Back to today's card! I was especially happy to colour in this little guy from Elena Zinski at PaperArtsy.  Set ZA21.  This little sheep is so gorgeous! What's not to love!

The only thing I'm not sure about on this card is the size of the greeting.  I may make another one and just go with something a little smaller.

Here it is though!   And whatever kind of a day you are having, count your blessings and celebrate the small stuff!

I'm entering this card in the We Love Stamping challenge!

La Fee Coquelicot

A strange day today.  Very emotional watching the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.  Also amazing to see what a significant part of the tributes and music involved Scotland.

It was difficult to stop watching.

So not too much crafting done today.. just one little card with a gorgeous stamp from Carabelle Studio called La Fee Coquelicot, french for the colour associated with the wild corn poppy. I started colouring with the intention of using shades of red but the decided to change it up a little and go for yellows.  It's a lovely image to colour.

I hope you like it..

Hello September

Hi!  Well, it's fair to say that the months are just flying in this year!

I've not posted in ages.  I have been doing some crafting but in very limited time which has meant the blogging has had to stop.  I'm really going to try and get back to normal though as I do love sharing!

As much as I love cardmaking I do alway struggle with Christmas - I start off well and then lose momentum!  And this year is no exception! I've started later than normal but you have to start somewhere!  So I thought I would share this card I made today.  It's a watercoloured poinsettia.  Nothing too fancy but I do like it. I might add some glitter (not sure yet!).

Here it is!

Have a lovely day!

I'm off to play with my new Tim Holtz watercolour pencils now!

Butterfly Hello

 Hi!

The weeks are just flying in at the moment! Lot's going on! So trying to carve out a little crafty me time and inspired by the challenge at Sunday Stamps - Split in Two.  Here's my make - I was using scraps that were destined for the bin, and that include little extra parts of a larger stamp which I put together to make the backing paper - waste not, want not!

Flower Moments

 Hi!

Sorry I've not been posting as often.  Busy busy!  I managed to carve out some crafty time today though and time to play with a stamp set from AALL & Create called Flower Moments (#233).  I just love this set as it's really simple and so effective!  Just some light colouring and I roughed the edges of the image just to make it stand out from the card base.  Coloured using Stampin' Up! Inks and Markers.

Really simple but I hope you like it!

Hope you like them! I'm so excited about the new Stampin' Up! catalogue!

Celebrate Beautiful Things

Hi!

It's a chilly Monday here in central Scotland.  The sky is blue and it's bright outside but it's still deceptively cold!  I thought I would try and get a bit of a spring vibe with this card.   Nothing to complex, but a bit of stencilling for a change.  It's not something I usually do (or rather, I tend to forget about it as an option).. but I like this for a quick effect.

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges (all "anything goes"):

Happy Monday everyone!

Mothers Day

Here's the card I made for Mothers Day earlier this year!

Been ages!

 Hi!

It's been ages since I blogged.  Where does the time go?  Life is busy, but that's just an excuse.  I don't seem to have found my mojo recently.  I suppose that does happen.  I haven't not been crafting.  I've made cards when I've needed to, and I've made candles, tea lights, wax melt, room scents and diffusers.  I've just not taken any pics.

I have been trying to tidy the craft space too.. as I think one of the main problems is that I can't find anything!  So if I do want to craft it takes me ages if there is something specific I want to use and I just have no idea where to find it!

I also need to tidy my craft space to make room for a whole load of new stash expected this week from Stampin' Up!  The demo pre-order for the new catalogue!  Now this is exciting and I think with that delivery may well come my revitalised mojo!

I did have a little play today - something very simple!
