A cold Friday!

Hello! and welcome to nearly-the-weekend!   It's freezing here in Scotland - considering it's supposed to be the tail end of summer (what summer??)

It's been a busy day today and now I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend with some crafty time too!

I've finally had a chance the play with  the 3rd set by Kim Dellow for PaperArtsy.  I just love these stamps and all three sets work so well together!

All the elements on this card are coloured using PaperArtsy Infusions and Dina Wakley Gel Medium (matte) (for Ranger).

Great fun with the paint brush and using the stains kind of randomly!

Watercolouring

Hello! Hey, it's Thursday! Who is stealing the weeks?  Ok, I guess I can forgive this week for flying in as I was on holiday at the start.  But since being back at work it just feels like a blur!

I'm not complaining though, I've had enough time to do a wee bit of colouring and prep for some DT work.  And I won a challenge over at Fresh Brewed Designs (check the link on the left handside) for my Especially For You card.  And.. I got some time to play with my new watercolours!! What better to try them out on than the fabulous Kim Dellow stamps from PaperArtsy!

So here is my first attempt..  a simple "one layer" card.  I just love the little birds!!

I have to say that these Kuretake watercolours are so easy to work with!!

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges..

Take Time To Smell The Flowers

Hello!  A very busy weekend for me, unfortunately most of it working.  But I have managed some spare crafty time today and I've been playing with the acrylic paints and the old credit card again!   This time I've opted for some JOFY stamps from PaperArtsy.  A little bit of paper piecing and some Tim Holtz Distress Markers to add the final touches.    I'm really loving the green chalk acrylic called "Granny Smith".

So something a wee  bit different from my last few makes..

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Brown Sugar (#195)

Now it's time to enjoy the rest of the weekend!  Relaxing!

You can never have too many...

....different colours of acrylics!    The postie's been!

I have lots of acrylic paints but none like these!   These are chalk acrylics, and I can't wait to play!  (will have to wait for now though!)

So much fun with an old bank card!

Hello Monday again!

What a busy weekend it's been but I did get a little time to play yesterday and I've finished off this morning by making two cards. Both using the same technique which I found on the amazing Kim Dellow's blog here.  The faux printed look.  It's just such amazing fun!  All you need are some acrylic paints and an old piece of plastic (like an old bank card or something similar).

My first attempt is really just a copy of Kims but with the addition of some white in the dots using a uni-ball Signo white pigment ink pen.
Here it is..

It's an addictive technique and so quick.. so needless to say the paint kept flowing and this is my second attempt.  I used the Paperartsy Eclectica (EKD02) by Kim for this second card.

I think I may try some more.. the colour combos are endless!

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Eclectica

Hello!

It's a lovely day here, a bit cold but that's what you expect!

I've been playing with a combination of the two Paperartsy Eclectica sets by Kim Dellow.  Just keeping it really simple.  These are lovely sets to work with. I've just coloured these with Copics.  I stamped on Stampin' Up! Whisper White cardstock which is perfect for alcohol markers and just the right GSM to cut really easily (as I'm someone who doesn't like cutting!!)

I just love these little hedgehogs!

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

One Crazy Stamper (April - Anything Goes)

Two different effects

Hello!  Well, Monday has just disappeared!   A lovely day.. including some tea and chat with some friends which made a nice change as work has invaded most of my Monday's recently.

The choice of what to play with today was obvious as I couldn't wait to play with my new Kim Dellow stamps!

So.. two techniques.. keeping it simple...

The first is Promarkers..

The second is Polychromos on Kraft..

I love the way colouring on Kraft seems to make the colours pop!

So much fun!  Blended them using a Prismacolor Blender pencil.

I'm going to enter this card in the following:

613 Avenue Create (Anything Goes w/Optional Twist: Use a Bird)
Glitter N Sparkle (#183)
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends (#30)
Penny Black and More (Feature a Creature)

Just loving this!

Hello!  Welcome to Spring!  I know it was officially yesterday but I didn't get a minute to blog yesterday!

We did however manage to create the Atomium (it took ages, 9 polystyrene balls, 12 lolly pop sticks, 8 toothpicks and some silver spray paint... and a LOT of hot glue!).  It was ceremoniously wrapped in a bin bag this morning and taken into school.  So I guess I earn a parent brownie point!   And I was rewarded when the postman arrived this morning with this.........

This set was on my "absolutely must have" list.  Now that I have it I realise I need the other set by Kim Dellow too!

Maybe time for some shopping later this morning.  But first I need to make a baby card!

Hope you have a lovely Monday!
